How to remove stain from nail polish from clothes

Nail polish remover

You can use acetone in its pure form or buy a product that it is part of.

Important!
You can not use acetone in the fight against stains from varnish on thin and delicate fabrics. The composition damages the structure of the fibers.

  1. Turn out the product, moisten the back of the stain with vegetable or olive oil. Such a move will not allow the varnish to penetrate deeper. Place a cling film on the inside so that the footprint is not imprinted.
  2. Apply acetone in a generous layer on a cosmetic swab, start processing the stain from the edges. To prevent the trail from spreading, you can moisten the area around the contamination with cold (ice) water or cover it with baby powder without perfumes.
  3. After processing the edges, move to the center of the spot, the cosmetic disk will be painted, so it must be constantly changed.
  4. In cases of cleaning light items, stains may remain on the fabric. To get rid of them, take a foam sponge, soak it in gasoline and rub it well on both sides, then sprinkle the treated area with talcum powder without perfumes.

Glycerol

The product is suitable for cleaning products stained with varnishes on a luminescent and aluminum basis.

  1. Apply natural oil to the inner area of the stain, lightly wipe the outside with liquid polish remover.
  2. Heat a jar of liquid glycerin in a water bath, sprinkle areas around the stain with rye flour or talcum powder.
  3. If the stain is small, dip a cotton swab into a tube of glycerin, carefully process the trace. In cases of large soiling, a cosmetic swab must be used.
  4. After processing the traces of varnish with glycerin, wait 30-40 minutes. After the expiration date, blot the stain with a paper towel and repeat the previous steps.
  5. After 3-4 procedures, the trace will begin to fade. When it becomes almost imperceptible, soak a thing in warm water with washing powder or laundry soap. Leave for 1 hour.
  6. Complete the machine wash, do not forget to pour the fabric softener. If the item is white, you can add a little bleach to the tank for the air conditioner. If the product is colored or dark, pour 65-75 g into the second compartment. baking soda.

Gasoline (AI-95, AI-98)

To remove varnish stains, only high octane gasoline is used. The tool is suitable for removing traces from any kind of fabric.

Gasoline from stains of nail polish

  1. Place a paper towel or white cotton towel under the area of contamination, fold the lining in several layers.
  2. Moisten a cosmetic disc in gasoline, place it on top of the stain, wait half an hour. Make sure that the cotton swab is always wet, as gasoline tends to evaporate quickly.
  3. After the time, remove the compress, evaluate the result. Repeat if necessary. Finish the procedure by washing with laundry soap.

Mechanical cleaning

  1. In a similar way, small spots are cleaned, such as a drop or accidental contact of a part of the nail with the surface of the clothing. It is enough to dry the trace and try to scrape it off with the help of manicure tongs or a non-sharp knife. The smeared stain remaining after mechanical cleaning is removed with gasoline or nail polish remover.
  2. There is another method of processing products in this way. Lubricate the varnish stain with butter, leave for half an hour, rinse. Rub wet clothes with tar soap, wait about another hour. Try to scrape off the varnish base in a convenient way, then combine ammonia and turpentine into one composition. Soak a cotton pad in the resulting solution and wipe the treated area, leave for 1.5 hours. After this period, the varnish will begin to “melt”, then it must be cleaned with laundry soap or powder in large quantities.

White spirit (solvent)

The composition is more gentle than pure acetone or industrial solvents. White spirit can be purchased at an enamel store or on the construction market.

  1. Apply oily cream or vegetable oil to the underside of the stain, moisten the area around the contamination with cold water.
  2. Treat the varnish trace with a cosmetic disc dipped in white spirit. Start cleaning from the edges, gradually move towards the center.
  3. Leave on for 15-20 minutes, pat dry with a paper towel and evaluate the result. In case of insufficient effect or the appearance of stains, dip a soft cloth or cosmetic swab in gasoline.
  4. Wipe the stain on both sides, sprinkle with lemon juice to neutralize the smell. Finish cleaning with machine wash and air dry.

Hydrogen peroxide

The technology is suitable for removing stains on light tissues, since the peroxide solution bleaches the product. If you dare to use the composition on colored or dark clothes, do a test to wash off the coloring pigment. To remove impurities, it is necessary to take only a 6% peroxide solution, if desired, the drug can be replaced with Chlorhexidine with the same concentration.

Hydrogen peroxide from stains of nail polish

  1. Dampen the cosmetic disc in the solution, apply to the stain and fix. On the second disk, apply a greasy base that will push the varnish out from the inside. It can be butter / vegetable oil or baby cream. The second tampon is lined with the wrong side and is also fixed.
  2. The exposure time in this case is 20-30 minutes. After the expiration of the period you need to remove the discs, by this time the varnish will soften. Try to carefully scrape it with a blunt object, just do not smear it.
  3. When you have removed most of the composition, soak the swab in hydrogen peroxide and begin to intensively wipe the stain. The disc will absorb color, so it must be replaced with a new one as often as possible.

What should not be done

  1. Always use cosmetic swabs or cotton pads to apply the composition to the surface of the product. Do not pour the product from the bottle, otherwise it will even capture a clean area, due to which the stain will spread.
  2. To remove stains from delicate types of clothing, warm glycerin is suitable. It softens and does not injure tissue. Silk, satin and other delicate fabrics should not be treated with rigid compounds.
  3. Do not use white spirit on products made of genuine and artificial leather. In the first case, it leaves spots, in the second - it raises the upper layer, as a result of which blisters form.

Before cleaning, carry out a test on an inconspicuous area, this may be a bend of the seam or a pocket lap. Put a little of the chosen product on the fabric, wait about 20 minutes, evaluate the stability of the coloring pigment. If the shade has not changed, proceed with the removal of contamination.
