How to do waxing: useful tips

Waxing is the most common way to remove unwanted vegetation. The procedure can be performed both in the salon and at home. For the latter case, a number of features and recommendations have been developed, without which the procedure will not go so smoothly. Consider the important aspects.

Varieties of wax

Depending on the temperature regime, wax is divided into warm, hot and cold.

Warm wax. The composition has virtually no contraindications, so it is often used at home. Each girl can perform epilation with such a tool, regardless of the degree of preparedness. Warm wax is considered the most expensive because it is available in the form of roller cassettes, which greatly simplifies application.

However, the product is not enough for a long time. The pricing policy for carrying out the procedure at home comes out almost equal to its performance in the cabin by a qualified craftsman. Very often after epilation with warm wax, the effect of "ingrowth" appears, which increases with each procedure performed.

Cold wax. It is logical to mention that it is impossible for them to burn themselves, and this is an undeniable plus. Cold cycle wax is produced in the form of strips on which the product is distributed evenly over the entire surface. The composition is often used to get rid of unwanted vegetation along the bikini line, in the armpits and on the legs.

The procedure is extremely painful, it is often possible to notice the formation of blood points after removing the follicles from the epidermis. Also a negative feature of the cold cycle is the duration of the procedure. It will take a lot of time and effort, since the hairs are removed completely only 3-4 times. The procedure is tiring and too troublesome to carry out at home.

Hot wax. The most common way to get rid of unwanted hair. Often used both in the salon and at home. Hot wax is an alternative to shugaring with only one deviation. With the right procedure, it is quite painful, but not to the same extent as when using a warm or cold cycle. The effect of ingrown hairs is practically absent, the result remains for a long time. Due to the hot composition, the skin is pre-steamed, which greatly simplifies the matter.

Hot wax is used in the deep bikini area, on the legs, armpits, face. The complexity of the technology lies in the preparation of the composition: you have to constantly maintain the temperature by heating the mixture in a water bath or in the microwave. However, the problem disappears after the first procedure, only an hour's preparation is needed. Hot wax is produced in convenient jars, a wooden spatula with a temperature regulator is attached to the product. Subject to all instructions, getting a burn is minimal.

Preparing for the hair removal procedure
Preparing for the hair removal procedure

  1. First, make sure that the hair length meets the stated requirements. It should not go beyond the indicators of 4-7 mm. Otherwise, cut off the excess or, on the contrary, wait a while.
  2. Take a hot bath 5 hours before hair removal. Make a scrub from coffee grounds and shower gel, thoroughly wipe the skin. Such a simple way will remove dead cells, which will allow you to pull out the ingrown hairs.
  3. Wipe the skin with an antiseptic to degrease areas and prevent infection. It is also worth disinfecting the tweezers.
  4. Preheat some wax and test for possible allergies. Sweep the wrist with a spatula, distributing the composition of 1 mm thick, wait a quarter hour. After that, rinse the wax with warm water or remove with olive oil, evaluate the result. If there is no redness, irritation or neoplasm, proceed to the next step.
  5. Take from the package 5 wide strips for hair removal. Cut them across to get 2–4 cm slices. Lay a paper napkin next to it, put tweezers and cooked pieces on it.
  6. Proceed with the preparation of the composition. Remove the lid from the wax jar and remove the film. Turn on the microwave at medium power, place the bowl on the edge of the turntable. Set the timer for 2.5 minutes.
  7. After time, remove the composition, mix it with a spatula. Wax should resemble honey not very liquid, but not thick. It is allowed to use only a homogeneous composition without lumps. Otherwise, put the jar in the microwave for another 30 seconds.
  8. Dip the spatula into the mixture, evaluate the color of the indicator. Wax can be used if the shade is blue or green with the corresponding inscription “Yes”. If the indicator is red, cool the composition.
  9. Take a pot that retains heat well. Collect boiled water into it, put the jar inside. Make sure that the drops do not fall on the wax, otherwise it will quickly deteriorate, and the result will be reduced to zero.

  1. Put on gloves. You have previously degreased the skin, so now you need to cover it with talcum powder. Put the product on your hand, then gently rub it. Brush off the rest with a paper towel.
  2. Dip the scapula into the wax, soak the convex edge well, remove the excess from the edge of the jar. Evenly cover the skin according to hair growth, do not immediately capture the entire surface, otherwise you will not be able to avoid pain. The waxed area should be approximately 4 cm long and 5 cm wide. Immediately squeeze the composition with an epilation strip so that it adheres well. Wait a few minutes.
  3. The wax is frozen, so you can proceed to its removal. Press the skin with your free hand, take the edge of the strip and at the count of three sharply pull it against the hair growth. To reduce soreness, you can strongly press the area with your hand.
  4. The hairs will never be completely removed because they are of different lengths. In this case, use tweezers and pluck them.
  5. Repeat the wax application, wait and remove it again with a strip. It is important to note that hot wax can not be used more than 1 time in one area, so try to immediately do the procedure efficiently.
  6. After all the hairs have been removed, remove the wax residue with a cotton pad dipped in vegetable or olive oil. The product will soothe the skin and prevent irritation. Take a warm shower and apply the cream after hair removal, it will exclude ingrowth.

Proper use of wax at home is possible following the instructions. Peel in advance, degrease the surface, cut strips and warm the composition. Follow the heat indicator, carry out the procedure in turn on each site.
