Griffola curly - a description of where it grows, the toxicity of the fungus

Curly grifola is the largest mushroom of the family of tinder fungus, it has many other names that are known to many lovers of quiet hunting: “lamb head”, tree chicken, meitake and others.

Griffola curly

It grows on trees and old stumps, attaching to the latter with its thin legs. The peculiarity of this species is that curly griffol grows in large colonies (rather large accumulations of fruiting bodies), which reach significant sizes. Meyteke is very appreciated not only because of its nutritional value, but also for its use in areas such as cosmetology and medicine, which is due to the antiviral and antitumor properties of this fungus.

View description

Meitake belongs to edible mushrooms, it can be recognized by a fairly large number of meaty and shapeless hats in places of growth, wedge-shaped converging into one rather thick base. The diameter of one hat of this species of the polypore family, gracefully passing into the leg, reaches 100 mm in diameter.

The bottom of the mutton mushroom caps and the upper part of its leg has a thin, finely tubular layer, which is also spore-bearing (spore powder is white, the shape of the spores is ellipsoidal). The color of the outer surface of the fungus directly depends on the degree of illumination and can vary from grayish-olive to grayish pinkish.

The “wood chicken” hat itself has a rough and wrinkled surface with an uneven, wavy edge, the structure is fleshy, dense. The legs of the mushrooms are flat, grayish in color, twisting into a single base. The central base is thick and fairly short.

The mushroom pulp is white, very fragile (brittle), with a pronounced mushroom aroma, the taste is nutty.

Most often, this fungus is found growing at the base of various types of deciduous trees, striking their wood with a characteristic white coating (mainly beeches and oaks). Peak fruiting - from August to mid-autumn. Note that this type of mushroom does not bear fruit every year.

The weight of one process of lamb mushroom can reach 20-25 kilograms, while its diameter is up to 1 meter. One of the main advantages of grifola is its high growth rate - the shoots grow very quickly and reach a weight of 10 kg in just one week. Meiteke is not eaten by insects or worms.

Spread

In the natural nature, such a mushroom as grifola is found in many countries (Europe, Asia, America). The growth season is in the middle of summer - autumn. The main place of growth is broad-leaved forests (beech, oak groves). Although rare, but maytake can be found growing near conifers (pine).

I would like to draw attention to the fact that this type of fungi is considered quite valuable, it is rare, fruiting seasons are not regular. In fact, this is the main reason that a person began to cultivate mutton mushroom. Mushroom farms engaged in the artificial cultivation of curly grifola in Asian countries are especially common.

Workpiece Features

The harvesting of oak polypil begins with the fruiting season and continues until late autumn. Note that for medicinal purposes, exclusively collecting young specimens of grifola is carried out. Old mushrooms have a more fibrous and cruel structure, differ in bitter taste.

Features of the preparation of griffles curly

Harvesting young mushrooms involves carefully cutting fruit bodies with a sharp mushroom knife, after which the harvest is cleaned of grass and foliage and dried (heat treatment at a certain temperature - it should not exceed 50-60 degrees). Dried mushrooms are thoroughly ground into powder, such mushroom seasoning is stored for no more than 3 years.

Composition and properties

Curly grifola - a useful edible mushroom, in the fruit body of which contains a large number of vitamins and minerals useful to humans. For example, organic polysaccharides have a positive effect on the entire human body as a whole. Scientists also found that grifol has quite powerful anti-inflammatory and antitumor properties, has high antiviral activity, which indicates its value in the treatment of such an ailment dangerous to humanity as AIDS (a natural antiviral doctor).

The antitumor effectiveness of curly griffles is several orders of magnitude higher than the activity of most anticarcinogenic drugs, the basis of which are complex chemical compounds.

The polysaccharides contained in the fungus are able to regulate cholesterol and blood sugar quite quickly, leading indicators to normal.

We draw attention to the fact that many drugs manufactured by pharmaceutical companies, the basis of which is griffin extract, are distinguished by such properties as complete absence of toxicity, good tolerance by patients, which, in fact, favorably distinguishes them from their synthetic counterparts.

Taking medications based on grifola extract is recommended by specialists in the treatment of diseases such as atherosclerosis, diabetes, overweight, leading to obesity, high blood pressure and others.

Medical use

To date, such mutton mushroom has found its application in the pharmacopeia of many countries. This is because the maytake extract is an active component of most active bio-complexes. In addition, it has unique properties, which allowed her to obtain the status of one of the most powerful antitumor fungi that are known in the world.

The use of curly grifola in medicine

Thanks to the active substances contained in the fetal body of lamb fungus, the growth processes of neoplasms and metastasis are significantly slowed down, and healthy cells receive effective protection from exposure to radiation and drugs used for chemotherapy. There has been an increase in the cessation of tumor growth, especially in the early stages of the development of cancer.

This type of mushroom also proved to be excellent in gynecology, in the treatment of pathologies such as fibroids, fibroids, mastopathy. Often, the extract of this gift of nature is used to reduce unpleasant menopausal symptoms and PMS (decrease in nervousness, characteristic flushing, bouts of sweating). Meitake treatment helps to normalize the hormonal background.

Meitake is also recommended for those people who want to reduce body weight, which is achieved by normalizing metabolic processes, hormonal levels and metabolism. We draw attention to the fact that the extract of this type of tinder is included in the well-known to many diet system from Japanese experts (Yamakiro).

In folk medicine
The fact that curly griffin has valuable healing properties, mankind has long known. From time immemorial, dry powder meitake has been used externally as an effective antiseptic to treat wounds, ulcers, burns, and many skin diseases.

Grifola broth helps well with diseases of the bronchopulmonary system (tuberculosis), with the appearance of severe headaches. Often, Meitake tincture is used in folk medicine to treat digestive ailments and hypertension. Also, the fungus broth has a high anthelmintic effect, activates and strengthens the immune system.

In cosmetology

Maitake is one of the components that is included in many products, mainly intended for the care of the skin of the body and face. This can be explained by the fact that grifol has the following properties: it quickly calms, relieves inflammatory processes, and also, importantly, it can have an antioxidant effect.

Masks and creams made from lamb mushroom effectively renew the epidermal cell tissue, significantly increasing the elasticity of the skin, nourishing them, cleansing and effectively combating the signs of aging.

In cooking

Grifola is one of the most popular mushroom in Japanese cooking. This is due to the soft and tasty flesh of meitake, as well as its excellent aroma and nutritional value. Lamb mushroom is one of the main components of such a traditional Japanese dish as nabemono, and maytake is often used to prepare various sauces, seasonings, first and second courses. In its raw form, grifola is not recommended.

Historical facts

The first mention of the beneficial properties of such a fungus as curly griffin is described in the treatises of ancient Chinese medicine written by ancient sages (no less than 1200 BC). In these historical documents, it is mentioned that the meitake mushroom is able to treat many diseases: gastrointestinal ailments, nervous disorders and even hemorrhoids.

The griffin got its name from the name of the mythical bird - the griffin. Translated from Japanese - meitake means nothing but a dancing mushroom. This is due to the fact that in its form the griffin resembles a nymph in dance.

Other names for curly griffins - mutton mushroom or “lamb head”, are popularly known due to the peculiarities of its growth, which implies a collection of hats that in appearance resemble the head of an animal (characteristic shape and gray-brown color).
